Taking your car abroad
If you plan to take your Hitachi Capital vehicle abroad it is important that you obtain the necessary documentation before you travel.
A VE103, or 'on hire' certificate, gives you permission to take your vehicle abroad. If you travel abroad without this document you may be fined. Contact our overseas team on 01452 887 602 at least two weeks prior to your travel date to obtain the required documentation.
There is a £10 plus VAT administration charge for the provision of VE103 documentation.
In addition to the VE103 documentation, you will need to carry certain accessories in your vehicle when travelling in many popular European destinations. In some countries accessories such as headlamp deflectors, high visibility jackets and spare bulbs are required by law.
