Risk management specialists may be glad to hear that a number of industry groups have given a new scheme their backing.
It has emerged that the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair has now been given approval from a selection of sector bodies and government agencies.
Among those who have put their name to the initiative are the Retail Motor Industry Federation, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and the Scottish Motor Trade Association.
In addition, director of the National Tyre Distributors Association Richard Edy said the reason for its backing of the code was based on a need to ensure standards are maintained across the industry.
"We fully support this Code of Practice and actively encourage our members to embrace it. It provides a very cost-effective way to let the public know that you have all the necessary consumer protection procedures in place," he added.
This week also saw the SMMT call for more of a legal framework on creating a low carbon economy in Europe.
