Risk management strategies may benefit from looking at parking
Fleet bosses keen to ensure their risk management strategies are as successful as possible may want to consider where their employees park their vehicles - whether this be at work or during leisure time.
The Association of British Drivers (ABD) has drawn attention to the fact that height barriers present at many facilities can cause damage to autos - especially those that are larger than average.
It described the features as a "growing menace" and said they prevent people parking in places where they have a legitimate right to do so.
The group pointed out if motorists are not vigilant, they could end up damaging their cars and vans.
Spokesman Nigel Humphries highlighted an incident he was involved in.
"I damaged one vehicle on a barrier in Worcestershire, which allowed me to enter the car park ... but was lower on the exit side, causing a scrape to the roof," he explained.
Meanwhile, ABD welcomed a recent Commons' Transport Committee report that suggested motoring taxes need to be more transparent.
