Professionals in the commercial vehicle hire and fleet solutions industry may welcome a new announcement from the Road Haulage Association (RHA).
The organisation revealed this week that those involved in the sector can expect their voice to be heard in Europe following the appointment of its head of international affairs Peter Cullum to a new role.
It was noted in his position as vice-president of the Goods Transport Council of the International Road Transport Union, Mr Cullum will have a presence extending beyond Britain.
RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning added the news was "a tremendous coup" that would help a number of fleet solutions provides working in mainland Europe.
"Peter's election to this position will mean that the voice of the UK road haulier will be heard not just in the corridors of Westminster, but also in Brussels," he added.
The RHA recently outlined its disappointment at the closure of the VOSA testing station at Llandrindod Wells, noting it had warned against allowing this to go ahead.
