More vehicle leasing organisations are returning to car showrooms as the scrappage scheme continues to revive the industry, it would seem.

Following the release of government figures which revealed that 35,000 vehicles have been purchased as a result of the scrappage scheme so far, the Retail Motor Industry Federation has claimed that things are looking up.

Director of the federation, which acts as the trade association for the retail motor sector, Sue Robinson, commented that the scheme has had a direct result on the industry.

"The incentive scheme is helping the industry revive sales, while also helping consumers get into a new car. This is a double win," she said.

However, this comes after Which? Car recently warned that the scrappage scheme may not necessarily benefit fleet operators for example, looking to purchase large or luxury vehicles.

It claimed that only those interested in bagging a smaller car will see big savings.
