Ford 'is the best van option for fleets'
Light commercial vehicle operators looking to add new vans to their fleet should look no further than Ford.
At least that is the opinion of the manufacturer, which has claimed that its Ford Fiesta van and Transit Connect are among the best in the market.
Indeed, that is also the view of Van Fleet World, which awarded Ford a number of accolades at this week's Fleet World Honours.
The manufacturer was named van manufacturer of the year and its Transit Connect won the title of best small van.
Commenting on Ford's success, Van Fleet World editor John Kendall said: "The Transit Connect … will be the first van in its class to gain electronic stability program control as standard."
This, he added, will make it more attractive to fleets looking to improve vehicle safety and overhaul duty of care policies.
Meanwhile, recent figures released by British Car Auctions revealed that used van values are likely to rise over forthcoming months as more fleet operators turn to the second-hand market.
