FTA conference 'to clarify new roadside legislation'
Heavy goods vehicle and freight fleet operators around the UK could do with attending the forthcoming Local Authority Conference on May 19th.
The event, run by the Freight Transport Association (FTA), will be geared towards addressing issues regarding new roadside enforcement legislation and driver training, as well as discussing ways in which local authorities may comply.
According to the FTA, it will be important for councils to achieve clarity when it comes to "the glut of legislation" on its way.
FTA general manager Simon Chapman commented: "[It is]important for staff within local authorities and their contractors to ensure they are up to speed with their legal requirements, including graduated fixed penalties which came into force last month."
Meanwhile, driver training and risk management specialist DriveTech recently confirmed it is to attend this week's Health and Safety Expo, which is taking place at the NEC arena.
The organisation will give a series of demonstrations and talks aimed at educating fleet motorists on safe driving techniques.
