Businesses which choose green fleets 'are helping UK environment'

Car fleet operators and commercial vehicle hire scheme bosses may wish to consider the results of a new survey which suggests they, as business owners, could be doing more for the environment.
Selecting a green fleet may be the first step for many on the road to a more environmentally-friendly set of vans, lorries or cars.
The Department for Transport asked the opinion of British road users, who could take the lead in turning the motorways, trunk roads and lanes of the UK green, with twice as many people saying the responsibility fell with businesses than the government.
Just 10% felt local communities could make a difference, while 6% believed they themselves had the power to make a change.
Opting for a green - or, at least, greener - fleet could help fleet solutions bosses drive down costs in the long term, with rising fuel prices avoided.
The Freight Transport Association recently suggested that the Budget had made green fleet solutions easier to implement.
