Industry support may be welcomed by green fleet bosses
Green fleet bosses keen to do all they can to reduce their company's carbon footprint may welcome support from two industry bodies.
The Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) and the British Transport Advisory Consortium (BTAC) have claimed they are working hard to try and ensure businesses have access to fuel-efficient vehicles.
According to the groups, they are currently conducting trials that will hopefully benefit both the planet and the bank balance of British firms.
The tests are designed to try and make sure vehicles are capable of performing economically under a variety of conditions.
IRTE board member John Eastman commented: "The current climate is dictating the frugal use of fossil fuels and the need to look at alternatives."
He added his organisation, along with BTAC, was determined to help fleets increase their fuel efficiency.
This comes after the Freight Transport Association called for companies to be rewarded for going green with financial incentives such as lower Severn Bridge toll charges.
