Green fleet bosses may find Volvo trucks can help them protect their company's bank balance as well as the planet, if comments from one satisfied customer are anything to go by.

Cool Solutions in Hull said it decided to opt for the group's Euro 5 compliant vehicles, as it believed they would offer significant financial benefits.

The business explained it was previously running Euro 3 models, but was not convinced a move to Euro 4 trucks would make a noticeable difference.

Director Trevor Underwood claimed he believes the company made the right choice, as it has been able to cut its impact on the environment and its outgoings.

He stated: "By far the greatest advantage has been the 0.5 mpg average increase in fuel economy."

Meanwhile, fleet operators may also find Volvo trucks complement a good risk management strategy.

According to the manufacturer, it spends a great deal of time and effort producing vehicles that can help drivers avoid accidents.
