Volvo trucks may appeal to green fleet bosses
Green fleet operators keen to secure a good vehicle leasing deal on some environmentally-friendly models may want to consider following the example of one Widnes-based company.
Centrol Recycling has recently purchased some Volvo trucks.
It opted for a pair of FM-400s fitted with Boughton hook-loader fixtures and drawbar coupling, as well as two FM-300 6x2 refuse models.
The firm explained green credentials are a major consideration for the group.
Chris Hanson Jones, transport manager, said: "A key concern for our company - and our customers - is carbon footprint."
He added: "Impressive fuel figures from Volvo certainly help towards us minimising the environmental impact of our operation."
The firm also claimed it had secured a competitive deal on the vehicles and the choice was popular with its drivers.
Meanwhile, recent comments from Volvo suggested buying its trucks could complement a good risk management strategy.
The group explained it has a dedicated team researching ways to make its vehicles as safe as possible.
