Reduced bridge toll may be welcomed by green fleet bosses
Green fleet bosses in south Wales and the west of England - that have found environmentally-friendly practices can help them protect their firm's bank balance as well as the planet - may back a call for action to be taken that would allow companies to drive down outgoings in other areas as well.
The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has issued an appeal for the cost of crossing the Severn Bridge to be reduced for commercial vehicles.
It explained being forced to pay £16.30 every time they use the facility places a disproportionate burden on companies operating in this area of the country.
Policy Manager Ian Gallagher stated: "The cripplingly high cost of using the Severn Bridge is a huge detriment to businesses in south Wales and western England."
This comes after it was announced the Humber Bridge toll is due to be frozen.
In related news that may be of relevance to green fleet managers, FTA recently voiced its commitment to helping transport firms reduce their CO2 emissions.
