Environment Agency includes Peugeot on company car list
Green fleet operators aiming to add to their fleets while keeping a check on their carbon footprint might consider the latest models from Peugeot as they scour the market for suitable vehicles.
The manufacturer has received a ringing endorsement of its green credentials after the Environment Agency opted to include the company as one of its preferred suppliers of low-emission vehicles.
Eco-friendly cars are at the forefront of most fleet managers' minds in the current climate due to their low emissions and significantly reduced costs.
Employees at the Environment Agency will be able to choose from Peugeot 207 and 308 models, offering reduced emissions and "class-leading" low-carbon engines, the manufacturer said.
Fellow manufacturer Toyota also boosted its environmental credentials recently after its next-generation Prius model landed the WhatGreenCar Car of the Year 2009 award.
The upcoming vehicle, which goes on sale in the UK in August, beat nine other cars to the title, with judges reserving special praise for the "seamless integration" of eco-friendly features as part of its design.
