Older people could be best to trust with company car

Research suggests that businesses with a car fleet may be better off dishing out company cars to older members of staff, who are said to be safer on the road.
Motorists over 70 are no more likely to cause a crash than anyone else - and are significantly more reliable than young people - according to a study by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
Older people rely more heavily on cars and so, according to the organisation, make more journeys and stick with good habits.
As such, they could be the ideal candidates to trust with a vehicle from a car fleet.
Neil Greig, IAM's director of policy and research, said: "The report contradicts the common assumption that older drivers are a danger on the roads. Of the drivers who are in their teens and twenties, 34 per cent are involved in injury crashes."
One piece of advice fleet operators may wish to take came from road safety charity Brake last week, which stated that checking brakes and tyres at this time of year could be crucial in keeping drivers safe.
