Company car drivers 'can hone their skills at new academy'
Company car drivers looking to hone their motoring skills and enjoy a good day out might benefit from a trip to the new Driving Skills Academy.
The course aims to provide a fun way for motorists to boost their confidence at the wheel, improve driving behaviour and gain a greater understanding of their car's handling.
Held at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, it also seeks to educate young drivers planning to take to the roads for the first time.
TV presenter and co-host of the course Vicki Butler-Henderson said the lessons will also include tips on how to control a skid and be more aware of hazards while driving.
She added: "The Driving Academy is the perfect place for new and old drivers to learn more - and help increase their enjoyment, which to me is key."
According to a study by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents carried out last month, more than 60 per cent of businesses are not satisfied that the current learner training programme provides motorists with the skills needed to get behind the wheel as part of their job.
