Company car drivers seek out reputable garages
Company car drivers are already making the most of the new Motor Industry Code of Practice to help seek out honest and reputable garages to take their cars to, it would seem.
According to Motor Codes, its new online garage finder facility is now used by an average of 10,000 people each week to help locate their nearest subscribing garage.
Since the airing of several BBC television interviews on the subject, even more motorists are coming to understand the role of the code in helping to identify fair and honest traders.
Motor Codes director Chris Mason said: "We already know that motorists are wary of rogue traders in the service and repair trade but as knowledge of Motor Codes grows, consumers are increasingly seeking out subscribing garages to take their cars to."
This could come as good news for fleet operators, who may see their vehicles last longer as drivers deal only with reputable garages.
The introduction of the code has also been welcomed by the Retail Motor Industry Federation as "great news" for both consumers and the industry as a whole.
