Corporate fleet managers set to benefit from new potholes website
Fleet managers have been given yet another useful online tool to help with the day-to-day running of their company cars.
Launched with the aim of keeping motorists up to speed on the condition of roads across the UK, new website Potholes.co.uk boasts a number of forums, as well as route maps.
According to the company behind the initiative, Warranty Direct, such a resource should prove useful in helping fleet managers slash their annual maintenance bills, with poorly-conditioned roads likely to cause substantial damage to shock absorbers, springs and stabiliser bars over a prolonged period of time.
Duncan McClure Fisher, a spokesperson for the firm, noted: "With a £1 billion shortfall in the government's road maintenance funds, Warranty Direct has long believed that the motorist shouldn't be stumping up for the damage done by poorly-maintained roads."
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Britons looking to purchase a car are increasingly turning to the internet, rather than a dealer's forecourt, for bargains, with the review website RoadTestReports.co.uk reporting a 50 per cent rise in visitor numbers since the start of 2009 alone.
