Large commercial vehicle (LCV) fleet operators looking to add to their collection might want to get a move on considering used values are starting to creep up.

According to new figures released by British Car Auctions (BCA), used LCV values are currently much stronger now than they were at the end of 2008.

Even though year-on-year values remain down by around £347, they are still ahead of where they were in the final quarter of last year by as much as £767.

Duncan Ward of BCA commented: "Having spent most of 2008 in the doldrums, there is a lot more confidence in the used LCV market in 2009 and that is reflected in stronger bidding, higher conversions and improving prices."

Meanwhile, the new LCV market is set to suffer this year, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, which recently claimed it is to see year-end lows.
