Company car drivers 'should check Highway Code'

Drivers of company cars might want to remind themselves of the Highway Code after hearing about the results of a recent study.
Research from moneysupermarket.com discovered many road users are unable to correctly identify signs.
Some 65 per cent failed to recognise the symbol for 'no vehicles' and 62 per cent did not know what the 30 mph minimum speed limit sign stood for.
Head of motor insurance at the company behind the study Steve Sweeney said it was a worry that so many drivers did not know the answers to some basic questions.
It is a legal requirement for vehicle operators including those behind the wheel of a company car to adhere to the rules of the road, he added.
"Any motorist found to be flouting the rules could be fined, given penalty points on their licence - or worse still, disqualified from driving altogether and sent to prison," stated Mr Sweeney.
The Highway Code applies to England, Scotland and Wales.
