Contract hire firms 'will be able to buy used cars online'
Contract hire operators in the market to upgrade their company car fleet could be set to do so from the comfort of their own office.
A service recently launched by British Car Auctions (BCA) will see vehicles go on sale on the internet in a bid to attract more consumers.
The idea behind Live Online Select is to enable professional vehicle buyers to keep their eye out for a constantly refreshed batch of cars without having to visit an auction hall.
BCA communications director Tony Gannon explained: "The programme will inevitably generate a wide choice of cars and commercials, many with good retail specifications and in good colours that are sure to tempt BCA's online buyer audience."
If recent figures published by the Finance and Leasing Association are anything to go by, then this new service could do well.
It claimed that more drivers and organisations are turning to the used market, after recording a 27 per cent dip in new car purchases.
