Car fleet managers enjoy £1 a litre once more
Supermarket chain Morrisons has announced that the price of diesel at all its pumps across the country will be dropped to under £1 a litre, it has been confirmed.
The announcement drops the price 5p below its weekend figure and a full 34p below the July highs.
Car fleet managers will no doubt benefit greatly from the price drop, as the supermarket represents a countrywide means of picking up cheaper fuel.
Marc Bolland, chief executive of Morrisons, said: "Morrisons is taking the lead again in helping motorists.
"This time, we are the first in the UK to sell diesel for less than £1 a litre. We are absolutely committed to giving the strongest value for our growing number of customers."
Car fleet managers are often at the mercy of petrol prices, and with oil prices seeing particularly volatile changes this year many car fleet managers will now be looking to invest in greener car fleets, in a bid to reduce their reliance on petrol.
BMW has already shown off its battery-powered Mini E, and many other car manufacturers have pledged to provide green-powered cars in the coming years.
