Fleet operators keen to implement the most effective risk management strategy possible may want to consider fitting a seat-belt add-on device to their vehicles.

The CG-LockO has received a highly commended rating from road safety charity Brake.

Lap Belt Cinch EU is the company behind the technology and it explained the system prevents the strap going slack.

It added this ensures the person using the device retains the healthiest posture while travelling and is as safe as possible.

The group insisted this could help to reduce injuries sustained in the event of an accident.

It pointed out the system has been used for film stunts in the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace.

Since 1983, it is estimated the original three-point seatbelt - invented by Volvo - has saved some 35,000 lives in the UK.

Meanwhile, companies looking to improve their risk management strategy may also want to consider fitting tracking devices to their autos.

Stolen vehicle recovery company Tracker recently revealed how one of its devices helped police find a missing Mercedes that had been hidden in the back of a lorry.
