Phase four: vehicle remarketing

Getting you the best price for your vehicles

Another benefit we can offer you is our expertise in completing the vehicle lifecycle with a profitable sale. This helps to improve the competitive level of pricing we offer you at the beginning of each vehicle’s life. 

We are able to utilise our close relationship with Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions by drawing on their additional expertise to assess the best route to market for various vehicles. These fall into one of two categories; sale through an auction or direct sales.


Auction sales

 

For the more mainstream commercial vehicles, such as standard white vans, vehicles are often sold through Manheim auction centres. Manheim will review the vehicles according to the BVRLA fair wear and tear standards and produce a matrix for you with photographic evidence, outlining the damage charges. In the event of any dispute, Hitachi Capital will discuss the evidence in detail with you to agree the level of liability.

Some specialist, high-spec vehicles may also go through an auction, but
most will be sold directly by Hitachi Capital (see below).


Direct sales

Specialist vehicles carrying ancillary equipment such as cranes or cherry pickers will be returned to the Hitachi Capital depot to be remarketed onsite. We have established a reliable network of local and specialist traders who will take vehicles of this type for resale.

Resale values are fed back to our pricing team to assist them in providing accurate quotations and residual value (RV) estimates of vehicles that may yet be unproven in the marketplace.
